Candy Shame
I caved. I usually adhere to a strict rule concerning anything Christmas…Nothing Christmas until after Thanksgiving. However, tonight I was walking through Target when I spotted a box of cherry candy canes. When I was growing up my mom used these when she made gingerbread houses. I immediately bought them. Just one taste of these and I’m just a seven year old boy sitting on the counter in our house in Montgomery watching my mom construct edible houses. Memories…

I don’t consider this as caving in. It would be different if we were putting the canes on display but they will be safe & cozy in our cupboard.
Please not: These might be a childhood memory for Jordan but I find the fake cherry flavor too overwhelming. Sorry: (

Thank you for comforting me, dear. I’m sorry that we can’t share the love of the Christmas canes.

I too choose to err on the side of the subtle pepermint effervescence as opposed to the slightly overpowering, citric acid laced cherry flavor.

You have to plan ahead for this, but they’re even better if you box them up with your Christmas decorations for next year’s enjoyment. It’s disgusting I know, but I love them best when they are chewy.

That’s way too much devotion.

However, I agree that they are indeed better chewy. Often my mom would pack them up with her gingerbread equipment and then the next year the dye would be all runny and the canes would be chewy…delightful.
