Aging, BirthdayWe had a fantastic Easter weekend at church. We had a our regular service on Saturday night and then we had a Sunrise Service on the beach to celebrate Resurrection Sunday. We had about 200 people at the Sunrise service. There were a bunch of people from church bit we also had a lot of people who just wandered up from the beach. The Sarasota Herald-Tribune covered the event and ended up putting it on the font page of today’s paper. They also did a photo expose on their web site. Gotta love that free advertisement!
Church, Resurrection, Sarasota Herald Tribune, SunriseTonight Kristin and I went to the state fair. It was fantastic. I’m a huge fair fan. Every ride at the fair is basically based on our solar system. They all spin on some sort of axis while revolving around a central unit. 85% of the rides are the exact same thing. We hit most of the fair “musts” although I didn’t eat a funnel cake. My favorite ride was “The Twister”.
*I know this post would be better with pictures but I’m having a camera issue.
Amusement, Fair, Funnel Cake, RidesCongratulations to Drew Allen for making the 1,000th comment on jordanrippy.com! You may be wondering what he will receive for his millennial accomplishment. I am proud to announce that Drew will be the recipient of the very first jordanrippy.com T-Shirt. Thanks to all of you who have joined the conversation over the last nineteen months.
Blogging, Comments, Drew AllenYou may remember that about two months ago Kristin and I joined the Y. I was on a steady exercise program until about two weeks ago when life caught up with me. After ten days out of the gym I returned today and every bone in my body hates me. I guess I can relate to this guy.
Exercise, Lazy, Pain, Workout, YMCASometimes you never know who your blog is reaching, but today I realized what an impact it was making right here in my own family. As many of you know, my Nana recently gave Kristin and I a car. We felt as though this gift could never be out-given, but apparently we underestimated the generosity of Arthelene Rippy. Today we received a package that contained the greatest gift we have received for quite sometime. It was a pre-release for Alive: Music & Dance the new John Tesh CD/DVD combo. This musical adventure includes some of Tesh’s greatest hits with hip-hop dancing and a Tesh-tastic stage performance.
Nana, I truly don’t know where your generosity ends. I would also like to let all of my readers know that I am considering honoring Nana with a special installment of Sacred vs. Secular entitled, “Arthelene Rippy vs. Martha Stewart”.
Arthelene Rippy, John Tesh, MusicMany of you know that I am a big Dr. Pepper fan, but lately I find myself reaching for the Arizona Green Tea more frequently. I have a twelve pack in the fridge at all times. It’s high on antioxidants too.
Arizona Green Tea, Beverages, Dr. PepperMarty Sampson is one of the worship leaders at Hillsong Church and a former leader for United. Let Love Rule is his debut solo album and it’s unbelievable. Expect “less church and more singer songwriter.” Check out “Landslide” and then you’ll just want to buy the album.
