Becoming a Miracle
- “God used the raven to feed the prophet.â€
- “When God gets ready to do something great, He starts with something that’s already in the house.â€
- We are not miracle workers, we are miracles.
- Don’t pray for tasks to equal your power, but for power to equal our tasks. We will always have less power than tasks, because if it is God’s dream, it has to be bigger than we are.
- When the tasks are bigger than the power we have to bring God into the equation and give Him a chance to work.
- Burnout is a lack of vision.
- The way to have revival is not to pray them in. The way to have revival is to go out and get them and pray that the power of God is there when they get there.
- “It’s been said that if you keep a dream for five years, it will come to pass.â€
- “There is provision for the visionâ€
- “Put yourself out in miracle territory. Let’s just find out if God is God or not.â€
Matthew Barnett Bonus Quote:
- “I don’t want to be a success, I just want to be a blessing.â€

Proud to be a Southeasterner today. The school has done a great job with the conference so far. Here are the notes from Dr. Rutland’s talk this morning.
Flex Leadership in the 21st Century
- “There are a lot of guys in life who look good in their uniforms, but they don’t have anything.â€
- “The overemphasis on leadership ‘style’ may produce leaders who are a mile wide and an inch deep.â€
- The creative leader must create and cause others to create.
- “Unleash creative genius in others.â€
- “There is a fine line between creative leadership and psychosis.â€
- “It’s a sad moment when leaders are more concerned with the soles of their shows than the souls of their congregation.â€
- “One of the great challenges of ministry is to know when to drive forward.â€
- “Liberate your people to make mistakes.â€
- “Sometimes you get further and further from your destination just because you do it the easy way.â€
- “Failure to anchor change in corporate culture is most often the failure if the leader to assemble a sufficiently powerful guiding coalition.†- Leading Change
- “You’re not only not going to run your company forever, you’re not going to live forever.â€
- Everything that you are leading right now will one day be lead by someone else.
- Don’t be a one-term leader.
- “Classical†and “future†are not fixed continuum’s.
- “We have to transfer real values not the superficial religious traditions of angry old dudes.â€
- “Leadership in the home and in all other relationships requires conversation. Not just to speak, but to listen and to share.â€
- “You can spend your whole life trying to have good things or own good things, but all of us are moving on.â€
- If you grab hold of things, every time you move on it will feel as though you’re being ripped from them.
- Don’t over-secure the present.
- Don’t find and reinforce yourself in one type or style of leadership. It will narrow the range of your leadership.
- “You can’t play a whole round of golf with just a putter when you have a whole bag full of clubs.â€
