I love The Office. I always get together with a bunch of friends at Drew’s house for the weekly “Office Party”. However, for the last three weeks The Office has been in reruns. I just checked the web site to find out that this week there is no office at all and next week is an Office Marathon of RE-RUNS! I know what’s going on…Everyone is gearing up for May sweeps. Why is it that the politics of ratings must interfere with actually watching the show. Explanation please? I miss Michael Scott. I really do. All I have to hold me over are amazing quotables from the show:

“Get out of my offive!”

“Who’s long tim?”

“Attention everyone…We are screwed.”

“You just twist this thing until something breaks.”

“I know Michael Scott so well I could write a book about him. Today’s book would be called, ‘Somethings wrong, slash, what did Jan say, the Michael Scott story.’”

Tonight, I turned on the TV and immediately thought that I accidentally activated a time machine that took me back fourteen years to the year 1993. This thought was triggered by the fact that Mark McGraph and Mario Lopez were both on TV. After realizing that it was in fact 2007, I just figured I was watching a new episode of “E: True Hollywood Story” in which Sugar Ray and A.C. Slater complained about how nobody took them serious in their “craft”.

Anyway, turns out it was just the latest edition of EXTRA. Apparently this show has become a who’s who’s of has beens. These people have actually managed to produce a show consisting of C List Losers reporting on B List “Stars”. Let’s recap the co-host’s portfolio’s:

I won’t lie, I loved Saved by the Bell, but Sugar Ray was never cool.

I have no idea why, but for some reason I love this show. I don’t have cable at my apartment right now. My roommate has the enitre short-lived series “Freaks and Geeks” on DVD. I find myself watching it all the time. Two, maybe three episodes a day. I fear that it’s because it reminds me of myself in high school. Even if I wasn’t as big of a geek as some of these guys, it’s so relatable. It’s so outlandish, yet somehow it reminds you of someone you know. It’s definitely a show that makes you root for the underdgog. I know, I’m a nerd.
