This post contains links to tracks that are hard to find and cannot be purchased. All of these come from old singles and promos. I will NOT post any tracks from radio station compilations, bonus discs, Warehouse releases, etc. If they can be purchased, they will NOT be available here. I am also not making available any live tracks from official releases that were available on promos or singles. For example, tracks from Luther College that were also released on singles and promos back in the 1990’s are NOT available here.
If any of these tracks are released officially, they will IMMEDIATELY be removed from this page. If anyone with a claim on these tracks has any problem with their being posted here, I will remove them immediately.
I am posting these very few tracks because I have made them available elsewhere in the past with no trouble and because I believe they are unobtainable to fans through any mainstream channel.

Do you happen to have “When The World Ends (Alternate Ending)” from the When The World Ends Promo?

Ants Marching from 2-21-1994 and from 08-25-1994 are the exact same track. Not sure if it’s supposed to be this way or not.

OK, here’s the deal:
Typical Situation Single:
What Would You Say is already posted above. It’s date is 8/25/1994.
Typical Situation from that disc is the acoustic demo and was also on the DMB 1994 Radio Promo, which I already have above as well. I added a note to clarify though.
I Did It Single:
Crush (12/7/1998) – Added above.
Everyday Single:
Everyday (7/7/2001) – Added above.

Thank you as always for these Zack, not to mention for compiling the most comprehensive list ever on the subject.

Any chance to double check … What would you say ? Somebody has conflicting info.
Wiki says the version is 3:54 … and the one loaded here is 4:10 … did somebody typo … is there another acoustic version …
The typical situation single is a bit out of my price range so I can’t make a real comparison !!!
Just trying to cross the t’s and dot the i’s …

I have the physical CD here. The actual song is 3:54. The track is 4:10 because of applause, Dave saying “Thank You” and him coughing, then a fade. I am 100% sure it is the correct track above. I just put the CD in my computer to verify.
I admire your thoroughness (or obsessiveness!) — I am the same way! 🙂
Take care,
Zack

Yeah … I was noticing that as well … but you beat me to the punch – so full credit – haha.
OCD at its finest – grin.
So consider that resolved !!! Hope that single didn’t cost you any limbs.
Final thought …
Ants Marching (Dave & Tim) (1994/02/21) – 1994 DMB Radio Promo CD
Does the 1994 DMB Radio have a different Ants Marching … as noted by earlier post … it’s the same version as 1994/8/25 – quite likely the promo used the same version but I can’t verify.

Yes, the radio promo uses the same version – 1994/02/21.

Thanks BTW … I stumbled onto this site looking for something else and found so much more. Looking for some change and finding stacks of bills is SWEET.
Is there anything that YOU are looking for ? I have a bunch of the radio type live versions in case you need/want to track down a version you don’t have.

I need to fix that above. I forgot. I updated it on my list here and on AntsMarching.org but not above. Thanks for catching it. 🙂

Actually…now you’ve got me wondering. Let me dig out the discs and double check. Might not be tonight but if not, I’ll let you know tomorrow for sure. I want to get the actual discs out to be 100% sure because DMBalmanac has them as different and they are rarely incorrect. My flac rips of my discs though have them exactly the same unless I screwed up labeling them somehow.

OK, I re-ripped the Ants Marching tracks from both the 1994 Radio Promo and the Ants Marching US Single/Promo. I also listened to the tapes of the 1994/02/21 and 1994/08/25 shows to compare.
1. The two tracks above ARE the same.
2. They are actually 1994/08/25.
DMBAlmanac actually has the date wrong, which is what was throwing me. For the record, those guys are great and this might be the first error I’ve ever discovered. I’ve emailed them as well to let them know.
Anyways, after listening to the actual tape copies of the those two shows, the Ants Marching tracks on both the Ants Marching Single/Promo and the DMB Radio Promo are 1994/08/25.

Sweet – nothing like a little detective work and a nice collection to draw from. Thanks for resolving that and putting it to bed.
Unrelated – what is your take on flac ripping the out of print warehouse stuff ? And/or any suggestions where I might track them down.
Perhaps a dumb question – When something says itunes on your compiled list – what format can it normally/best be found in. I’m on another planet away from itunes etc other than a dislike for anything mp4 related. Can that stuff be found in flac ?
Cheers !!!
And thanks again for hammering out clarification.

Hey Clyde,
I’ve got your email address from when you post your comments. Is it OK to email you directly at that email address? I’ll be out for a few hours, but if that’s OK, I’ll email you later this afternoon or early this evening when I get back.
