This is Dave & Tim’s VH1 Storytellers set. It was a great show and is a very enjoyable listen. Definitely recommended. This was up on the Requests page, but I figured it deserved its own entry.

Do you know whether there’s a version of this recording that doesn’t sound like it was recorded in a wind tunnel? I’m listening to this right now, and there’s a lot of background noise that’s really easy to hear if you listen on headphones, but is still readily audible from speakers as well. It’s most obvious when Dave’s speaking, you can hear his voice, and some kind of background noise that I can best liken to the sound you hear when you cover your ears with your palms. It makes this recording rather difficult to listen to.

This is the best recording out there. I put this together a LOOONG time ago. I just recently went back and listened to my original wav files. Very surprised at what I considered “listenable” at the time. Even so, this is a landmark performance, the Davespeak alone is better than any D&T show out there. I think the main issue with this is it has an analog generation in there before it was put to wav. Reflecting back on it 11 years later, sounds like it may have been a stealth recording, accounting for how good some parts sound and how horrible others do. Its still a must listen for anyone who wants to hear some great Davespeak.
